    Rebuild of raid10 fails:(

One of the four disks of my raid10 was defective and I exchanged it it with exactly the same same disk (Seagate ST3500320AS). The only differences are firmware version (SD1A instead of SD15) and the serial number;)

When booting the system I receive a message in the task bar that a disk was found and I could probably use it to rebuild the raid10 which is now "degraded".

When trying to do this via contextual menu I unfortunately receive an error message that the new disk cannot be used for rebuilding because

      • it may contain system data
      • it may be too small
      • it has a SMART entry
      • HD is defective
      • HD and raid have a different encryption status.

But because it's a brand new disk I think I can exclude those causes...

      Who can help?

I'm using an Intel(R) ICH8R/ICH9R/ICH10R/DO/PCH SATA RAID Controller. Mainboard is from Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd.: EP45-DS4.

      Kit installed:
OS: Microsoft Windows XP Professional SP3
