Yes, you'll be able to upgrade to Windows 10. The only gotcha will be that if you have to do a Windows Recovery for any reason after that upgrade, you'd end up back at Windows 8.1, since that is what will be on the recovery partition.
In less than two months Microsoft will release Win10 free for users that have a legal Win7 and/or Win8.1. At that time (?) will there also be a version 10 with Bing available for Intel Compute Stick?
If so?... I suppose the upgrade will be from you? ...hopefully free?
Did anybody get the Windows 10 upgrade reservation app so far? I thought everyone who is eligible to upgrade Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 will get this reservation info but I didn't get the update info so far.
And do we get a possibility to perform a clean install of Windows 10 with a fresh and clean image/iso to download?
I have not received the update app, it does not appear to be available yet to users of Windows 8.1 with Bing. So my hope is that Intel will be answering the call when it is available with an image so that recovery does not roll users back to Windows 8.1.
Yes, the Intel Compute Stick running Windows 8.1 with Bing will be eligible for an upgrade to Windows 10. According to the specifications from Microsoft, Windows 8.1 with Bing will be upgraded to Windows 10 Home edition (mentioned in footnote 4 at the bottom of the following link). I have already reserved my Windows 10 upgrade using the "Get Windows 10" app on the Intel Compute Stick. It showed up in the notification panel in the bottom right. Make sure that Windows is completely up to date in order to receive the app. Here is more info about the Windows 10 upgrade, and the Windows 10 Upgrade app. - Windows 10 FAQ & Tips - Microsoft
