Can't access x86 bios when rebooting either Windows XP Pro w/svc pak 3 or Red Hat Linux 2.6.9-89

I cannot get the bios screen either on my Windows XP Pro (service pack 3) desktop or my Red Hat Linux 2.6.9-89.0.9 desktop.  The Windows XP Pro desktop has a D845 Pentium 4 motherboard made in 2002, (Pentium 4 CPU, 1.79 GHz).  The Linux desktop has D865GLCL Pentium motherboard made in 2005 (Pentium 4 CPU, 3.00 GHz), with hyperthreading enabled.  I used to be able to bring up the BIOS screen on each one by hitting ESC (or maybe F1) immediately when booting began.  Now I cannot get the BIOS screen for either one.  They have always shared the keyboard, mouse, and monitor via a Belkin KVR.  Does anyone have any suggestions?  Also, the monitor used to be a CTX CRT device, but I replaced that with an HP w1707 LED device last year.  Could the monitor be the difference, and if so, does anyone know how it should be adjusted?
