Are you getting same problem during BIOS screen?
Is it possible you could attach some pictures? I would like to see this problem.
Hi, no the problem doesn't occur in the BIOS. I have never seen it while playing movies. I just seems to happen very infrequently when going through the menu. I have tried different skins, ie MQ5 & this one, Transparency. This picture shows the dots at the top, but it can occur in any part of the screen. I thought it might be interference from the fan, but that is operating all the time. Thanks
From my experience artifacts like that are causing by either electro-magnetic interference or overheating. Although overheating usually causes more persistent artifacts than what can be seen in the video. My bet is on interference from say a high powered electric motor. My 2 cents.
That's what I thought, ie microwave or central heating thermostat (external sources). But the heating hasn't always been on, I have tried the nuc in a different room, on a different ring main. Also, I have never seen this while running a Mygica 510b with transparency.
I was thinking of the internal fan, but, that is running all the time. As for temperature, the device doesn't have to switched on very long before it happens.
I have just noticed, that I do get small white pixels on the boot screen, intermittently.
If you are getting white pixels during boot. It might be hardware problem with graphics controller on your NUC.
My recommendation would be contacting Intel Customer Support for warranty replacement of your NUC.
