That is odd, there is no real difference between using static IPs 192.168.1.100 or 192.168.1.110.
Did you check that no other system is assigned with the same IP? Perhaps if you run >arp –a that would help you other devices on the network and the IPs assigned based on MAC Addresses.
No there was no other device with the IP but it turns out the problem is related to my D-Link router. I did a full reset of it and now it works fine. Thanks
