OK, found the workaround.
GParted is not available as package in opkg repo so we need another Linux system to use GParted.
I created a Ubuntu bootable USB drive and inserted my SD card into laptop.
Then on the terminal I used
I selected the SD card and then chose the resize/move partition option on the 1GB space that was already allocated. Now when I run df -h, I get
