I did a check on my processor recently with a bench marking program because for a while ( I mean over the time of 3 months) my computer started to slow, I used a bench marking program and looked at the temps of my cores and it said my Processor was 60% worn out and over heating, when Idle it was going up to 70 Celsius and when I play a video game it was reaching 100! I didn't change the stock cpu fan, never overclocked it and never used new thermal paste until now, I went and got some new Thermal paste and that has kinda solved the problem but, (thermal paste should last longer than a year or about 10 months) I was wondering if wear n tear is covered, if so how do I go about getting a new one?
P.S I guess this is why I have a warranty.

Hello Sammie,
There are some troubleshooting steps you can try if the processor is overheating. Check the following link:
http://www.intel.com/support/processors/sb/CS-029427.htm http://www.intel.com/support/processors/sb/CS-029427.htm
Warranty covers processor malfunctioning so I would like to know the following:
- What software are you using to benchmark the processor?
- Have you tried running the Intel® Processor Diagnostic Tool? If not, download it and run it:
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/19792/Intel-Processor-Diagnostic-Tool-64-bit- https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/19792/Intel-Processor-Diagnostic-Tool-64-bit-
- Thermal paste will last depending on how many times you take the Cooling Solution out so it would be good idea to renew it when it looks dry.
Let me know the result of the Intel® Processor Diagnostic Tool.

Thanks for getting back to me Kevin!
I'm sorry I'm not that tech savvy.
I have never removed the cooling solution from my processer (I'm guessing you mean my CPU fan?) and I always give my pc a good clean every two months there is hardly any buildup of dust.
Here is the results of the test
and here is the Bench-marking website and software I used and it has my computer stats, says my core is 37% - the 4% (chrome is open)
http://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/194810 http://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/194810
can you tell me whats wrong with my Processor?

Hello Sammie,
Based on the Intel® Processor Diagnostic Tool results the processor is working just fine and the frequency and temperatures are good so this makes me think the bad results from the other software are because are simple not correct.

Hmmm so do you think it could be my hard drive that my Windows is on (its 3-4 years old) I read up about slow down with youtube and video games and crossed off the list of things that wouldn't cause this, I'm guessing its my old seagate hard drive.
What else could be causing my slow down ( I have ran many different malware programs and virus checkers, I didn't find anything)
Thanks again!

We are not aware that software can tell that a CPU is 'x % worn out'. Can you please tell is what benchmark tool gave you that report?
Maybe the HDD needs a low level format? Is there a way to test another Drive perhaps?
