Edison Getting Started - Real Factory Reset

    burrsutter

My ultimate goal is to get the Edison on my Wifi AP, with a static IP address so I can ssh in from any other machine on the same network.  It does receive a correct IP address as seen via "ip a" and "iwconfig wlan0" but seemingly no connectivity - ping just pauses, including ping of the router/gateway IP address.

      My attempts so far:

      1) SparkFun Getting Started Guide https://learn.sparkfun.com/tutorials/edison-getting-started-guide

Started this process on the Mac 10.10 (Yosemite) where the Serial Terminal (Cool Term) did not behave correctly and I noticed other oddities so moved to Windows 7 machine

      2) Tried Ubilinux...then I decided to switch back to Yocto

      3) Flashing Edison (wired) - Windows

This process executes seemingly correctly but I notice that my root password is not reset nor is my wpa_supplicant.conf reset - all previous settings stick around.  I was hoping for a full factory reset.

      cat /etc/version

      weekly-120

      configure_edison --version

      120

What is the process to get back to a true clean slate?

then I am hoping this link works for setting up a static IP

using connman to set static IP..Ip doesn't 'stick' on reboot...why?
