Hi,
I am looking at options for building a reliable and "sufficiently" powered home server.
The target would by a E3-1276 v3 cpu with 32GiB DDR3L-1600 ECC RAM on a Supermicro X10SAE.
The likely to work option would be to use 4x8GiB modules. The question is, would 2x16GiB also work? The datasheets don't mention that kind of configuration, but then, those modules are quite new ...

This type of memory information is provided by Super Micro since they are familiar with the total configuration of the Supermicro X10SAE.
On SuperMicro's web site you will see 8GB memory modules supported http://www.supermicro.com/support/resources/memory/display.cfm?sz=8.0&mspd=1.6&mtyp=45&id=AA4906EE72F0D88F780C626C4339B8DC&prid=0&type=0&ecc=0®=0&fbd=0 Super Micro Computer, Inc. | Support | Resources
