Communicating with module on a breakout board

    nemequ

I just got a "Intel Edison Breakout Board Kit Model EDI1BB.AL.K" and plugged it into the USB on my computer via the micro B connector on the breakout board.  My computer sees the FTDI chip, but when I connect to /dev/ttyUSB0 (which is the correct port) I get nothing—no login prompt, no garbled data, no error message, etc..  I've tried `screen /dev/ttyUSB0 115200` (as well as a couple other terminals) from multiple computers.  I've also tried multiple USB cables (even though I know all the ones I've tried work, and have no problem communicating with the FTDI chip).  The module is firmly seated in the socket.  Am I missing something?  The website is somewhat lacking in details for the breakout board (as opposed to the Arduino breakout board), but I feel like I should be seeing a login prompt…
