When you plug an Edison board it synchronize the date automatically. Is yours synchronizing without this method? How long are you waiting for it to load the date?
yes this works when using DHCP.
Not when I configure using static IP

5 minute after boot, 5 hours, it doesn't matter . The time-date is still wrong. When I run
the one thing that seems incorrect is that NTP is NOT synchronized.
Could this have something to do with my static IP being set?
Can you suggest some next troubleshooting stepd?
Do you have updates in this? Were you able to get date and time with the static IP?
Have you tried using the new release?
Did you installed ntp from Edison Package Repo Configuration Instructions?
You can also try by changing the /etc/ntp.conf file with another server address.
Did this ever get resolved? I just realized my clock stopped syncing when I set a static IP.
