Intel HD Graphics 3000/2000 (Sandy bridge) Windows 10 Graphics Driver support?

According to http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/CS-034343.htm Graphics Drivers — Supported Operating Systems there is no support of Intel HD Graphics 3000 for Windows 10.

When the support for Windows 10 for Intel HD Graphics 3000 will arrive?

Will be the new WDDM 2.0 driver model be supported for Intel HD Graphics 3000 for Windows 10?

Thanks,

nkef

Please check Windows Update. It is included in the Control Panel in Windows. To check for updates: Click the Start button, click All Programs, and then click Windows Update.

There is an inbox Graphics driver which has been provided to Microsoft* to enable Windows 10* for 2nd Generation Intel® Core™ Processors with Intel® HD Graphics 3000/2000/etc. (Sandy Bridge). If your computer is capable, Windows Update should update the Graphics driver. No further Intel Graphics drivers will be provided for Sandy Bridge.

Edit details: fixed trademarking errors and eliminated acronyms that not all users could understand (e.g. WU = Windows Update, SNB = SandyBridge).

Hi nkef

The table you reference does not include Windows 10 because it is not yet a released product. One Windows 10 launches the table will be updated to include it.

Drivers for Intel HD 3000 will be in-box divers that will be included in the Windows 10 distribution media.

Intel HD 3000 supports only WDDM 1.2 features. It is not capable of supporting WDDM 2.0.

Thanks

Robert

Nice, it is good news to hear that Intel HD Graphics 3000 (Sandy Bridge) will be supported officially in Windows 10.

The table "Intel® Core™ Processors" in "http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/CS-034343.htm Graphics Drivers — Supported Operating Systems" has a "Windows 10*" column that reports that there is "No" support for Windows 10 for Intel HD Graphics 3000/2000 (Sandy Bridge). Should it be updated?

Thanks,

nkef

As I can see the report containing the table "Intel® Core™ Processors" was last updated at 06-Jan-2015, is there any new update for the the Solution ID: CS-034343?

At the footer it reports:

We need updates now !

Laptops with Nvidia Optimus (GeForce graphic card + Intel HD Graphics) running Windows 10 have now two different versions of WDDM drivers, so now we can't use Nvidia card because of this difference and Intel HD graphic card is first loaded and can't be disable (or I don't know how to do this, disable driver doesn't work).

Can we get some informations or updates about a new driver really compatible with Windows 10 ?

The graphics controller Intel® HD Graphics 3000 does not support Windows 10, this information is available at: http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/CS-034343.htm Graphics Drivers — Supported Operating Systems.

So all you need to do is write updated drivers, Intel. This hardware should be supported in Windows 10.

Hello allan_intel,

I've been reading several sources/claiming that Intel has cut support, and your post totally confirms it.

My question to you is: Why create a BETA driver for Windows 10 and then officially not support it anymore?

My computer is running Windows 10, and is currently running Intel(R) HD 3000 Graphics. I am not pleased at all with this announcement. The reason for which I am in this topic is because an Intel rep linked me here via social media and told me to stay updated.

By "please stay updated" I am guessing this means that something might be done? I've been a loyal customer to Intel products, but I am not pleased at the moment with the way the situation with said graphics is being handled.

There's many complaining about this, so please, make your customers happy and provide official support. Games are totally unplayable on current BETA drivers that you left us with.. and that's not right.

Best,

Official documentation was provided on the URL I posted previously: http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/CS-034343.htm Graphics Drivers — Supported Operating Systems

I do not have different information about the support for Intel® HD Graphics 3000 and Windows 10.

Allan.

Hey i work in a computer shop and I've now had 2 laptops with HD3000 graphics come in with black screens at startup. If you hook up an external display it will work and you can operate the PC normally but it will not display on the main laptop screen. The only way I've found to fix this is to either disable the HD3000 graphics in device manager which is undesirable because you can't display in proper resolution for the panel. Or to wait for the PC to startup and login then put the laptop to sleep and wake it up, after that the internal display works until you reboot again. I'm using the prepackaged driver that came with windows 10 i don't have the version number on my right now but i'm sure it was the latest one available for this chip. This is a pretty glaring bug and i know officially there is no support according to the link you provided but can you tell me whether or not intel will be fixing this? Or at the very least acknowledge it?

Same problem here with my laptop and the internal display/sleep trick. We need a fix intel.

Hello,

We're all aware that that's all you know at the moment, but that still doesn't answer our inquiry. It's been said here that Intel has released beta drivers for 2nd generation graphics such as HD 3000/2000 family series.

I am currently using Windows 10 on an Intel(R) HD 3000 Graphics, everything works GREAT on it EXCEPT gaming. Now I see others here are having different problems from me, and that may be due to hardware, but we're all in the same boat.

We believe this hardware can be supported by Intel, and we believe that those drivers can be updated to a STABLE release. You left us with BETA drivers, which is the whole reason why a lot of here are having problems.

I love Intel, but I don't love that you're leaving us in the dark here, as customers we deserve to know if something will be done about this. We can provide DXDiag information, anything feedback necessary for the development of this driver update if it were to happen, but we all need to be on the same page here.

allan_intel all your response seems to be doing is brushing people off and ignoring the issue. Perhaps you could try offering some more information that may assist people. Is there going to be a fix to this issue? what can people do about this issue? Is intel going to do something or not?

Please do not post the link to the "official documentation" again.

Intel does not have plans to develop graphics drivers for Intel® HD Graphics 2000/3000 or SandyBridge technology for Windows 10.

Thanks Allan.

So what does that mean? I dare say that i am not as tech savvy as most of the commenters, but can you advise if there is anything i can do to resolve/improve this incompatibility issue? Do i go back to windows 7? Am i stuck with what i've got? I believe that this is the cause of me no longer being able to get audio on my tv with HDMI since upgrading to windows 10.

Your assistance is appreciated.

Dear Allan

I'm sorry but Intel's behaviour seems to me at least unfair on customers. The table you referenced in many post of yours should have been published a long before the date of Windows 10 release, so that users with "not so young" pc/notebook could have been advised of potential risks in upgrading their systems.

Instead:

  1. Microsoft told us "Everything's ok in upgrading your system" by the horrible GWX10 app (Microsoft's fault);
  2. On its site Intel published a link to a mysterious beta driver available ALSO for HD 2000/3000; that webpage was available to public several days after the release of Windows 10 (I checked it before my system upgrading the same way I checked AMD site for the new driver for my graphic card). If you publish a beta driver for my Intel card, what am I supposed to think about the future compatibility of my system hardware with the new OS?
  3. Now you tell us "Sorry guys, there's no way to get HD 2000/3000 working with Windows 10"

I can understand your position as an Intel representative but I think you'll agree with me that Intel's behaviour was all but unclear in managing this situation.

However I hope that Intel will find a solution for this problem as soon as possible (I don't think customers like us are asking too much)

Many thanks in advance for your reply

Best regards

does the beta driver report wddm 1.3 or 2.0 if it does then the majority of the work to port the driver to windows 10 is done

idealy intel should open source old driver's that they no longer wish to develope ( the main problem preventing this is the driver are full of special case game fixes apart from openGL)

Allen, you need to relay to the driver support team to rethink their strategy on supporting this hardware in Windows 10. We at least need a technical explanation as to why this decision was made, not just a link to the supported hardware table. This table was not coded into the Windows 10 upgrade process, so their are users out there with an install of Windows 10 that does not work properly due to this mistake. Someone at Intel or Microsoft needs to come up with a fix.

I have the same notebook, HP 8460p. I just installed Windows 10 and everything went smoothly. Windows found a working graphic driver on its own (it probably just used the win 8.1 driver, since I didn't do a clean installation).

The problem is that the screen BRIGHTNESS CONTROLL DOES NOT WORK (in consequence of this - I believe - also the ambient light sensor and the hotkeys are not working).

THIS IS NOT AN OLD CHIPSET, and it should still be supported.

Please Intel, release some working and up-to-date drivers.

My thanks to anyone who'll be working on this, hopefully.

Hi valentino.

The problem is that Hewlett-Packard [HP] did not test your 8460P notebook for Windows 10 compatibility and HP did not provide Win10 compatible drivers for your laptop on the HP drivers & software page as I checked the HP site myself. Only Vista, 7, 8 & 8.1 drivers were listed for 8460p but no Win10 drivers were listed for that model.

I saw the following on http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c04730900 this HP page:

If you purchased your computer prior to August 2013, HP has not tested or developed drivers for your computer model. Some features might not work, or the installation might not be successful.

One could try installing https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3095020 this September 2015 cumulative update for Windows 10.

I know win10 isn't listed on the HP support page, but I supposed the issue with a specific component - the graphic processor - rather than the notebook as a whole.

Anyway, thank you for your reply. I'll plead for HP's help.

That update was already installed with windows update
