Can you please run the Intel Management Engine (ME Driver)? This is required for Intel® Smart Connect Technology to work properly.

Hello. Thanks for your response. I have now installed Intel Management Engine. The Intel(R) Management Engine Interface is now listed under System Devices with no error. But the Intel Smart Connect software still fails to install with the same error message. I have downloaded the software again from the recommend URL but this is the same software I was using before. The BIOS does not show any option to enable Intel Smart Connect Technology. Does anyone have any other ideas? Thanks.

We just checked with product engineers (I work for Intel Customer Support) and it is confirmed that Intel® Smart Connect Technology is not supported on NUC5i5RYH.
The download link (Intel® Download Center) I sent you was removed and the documentation is being revised to reflect this information.
