    SPP Communication

    jblackston

I've seen a few threads that deal with basic SPP Bluetooth communication but it all seems to be around command line usage, where as I'm looking for a C code solution?

I'm trying to have an application on the Edison open up a SPP communication line and talk to a device that's paired with it. Would I just open a file to rfcom0 and see if it's successful? Or do I need to make some kind of discovery connection code to handle the actual pairing of the device. Or do I setup the system to pair to a device automatically and in my C code I open up the rfcom0 and if it returns NULL then I know I don't have anything paired, and if it returns a valid pointer than I know I have a connection? Or is there a way to see if a device has paired for SPP communication before I try opening the rfcom0 file?
