I am new on Intel Edison and I would like to log mac adresses of wifi devices in my area via airodump-ng.
The internal wifi chip (/the driver) does not support monitor mode,
so my idea was to use an external usb wifi dongle.
My questions are:
Does Intel Edison support usb wifi dongles? (or have I to install some modules/drivers?)
And is generally the monitor mode available on Edison (for wifi dongles which support monitor mode)?
Many thanks in advance!
Galileo support for USB wifi dongle is tested. See Setting up a Galileo Gen 1 to work with a Realtek RTL8188CUS USB Wireless Adaptor. On Edison - not sure.
