Hi, you will need to check the CPU compatibility of the board with the board or laptop manufacturer.
If you get a compatible CPU in the only thing you MAY need to do would be to update the BIOS.

I have the same model - 1525 - but it came with a Pentium Dual Core T3200 2.00 gig processor [OEM].
The big trouble with mine is it overheats allot and I have to have an external fan blowing on it just to be
able to type without feeling that I am burning my hand.
