My HTPC (Asus H87M-E with Intel i3-4130) is combined with a Denon AVR3313 and a Samsung TV (all connections HDMI).
In the past I could play 5.1 channel sound with this system. But starting some months ago that wasn't possible anymore. I tried a lot of things (drivers, sound setting in control panel, fresh Windows 8.1; 64 bit installation) but I cannot find the origin of this malfunction.
When I choose in sound settings the Denon / Intel Display Driver and I choose a 5.1 channel operation I obtain the message that the system only supports a 2.0 channel operation.
I have installed the 15.36.14.64.4080 driver (Intel Display Audio Driver: 6.16.0.3161 and the Intel HD graphics 4400 driver: 10.18.14.4080) at the moment.
The most recent Realtek audio driver (from Asus) is also installed but I have chosen the Denon / Intel Display Driver in the sound settings.
How can I solve my problem??

Please bear in mind the Intel Audio driver will load HDMI codecs into your system but will not enable 5.1 sound. You need to make sure you load proper motherboard drivers and adjust audio settings with Realtek and windows sound properties. I would recommend contacting Asus for troubleshooting assistance.
