Can I use socket 478 mobile processors in socket 478 desktop Motherboards?

I have several older Mobos and some mobile processors of the same, 478, socket, 400Mhz. I ant to know about compatability, cooling and voltage options and overclocking. any help would be fine, but if you don'tknow if it CAN be done, don't give me the "you shouldn't, cause it is stupid" type of answer, that is no help at all

If it cannot be done and you have the reasons, that is al right, that is what I am after, on the other hand if it CAN be done, I would REALLY like to know the ins and outs of the job (shimming the die for heatsinks, etc...)
