I did this a long time ago. So far i remember that it worked fine.
Have you tried this link to see whether it works:
There are drivers for Windows 7.
All the best,
There are drivers for Windows 7, but not for the Audio. I have Windows 7 64-bit and have already tried the steps in the document such as uninstalling the driver and/or installing old driver from the CD. Nothing seems to solve this. Driver installs fine, shows audio playing in the audio panel but no actual sound comes out on speakers or with headphones.
This makes me pretty sad and unable to work
Come'on, this board isn't that old.
Are the audio drivers for Win7/64-bit for D975XBX2 going to be released soon??? I keep checking every day!
I've had Windows 7 64-bit RTM installed for 1.5 weeks. Fortunately, I do get sound about half the time. Once sound stops working, the standard "Volume Mixer" in the system tray freezes us, and I tend to start having lots of problems with Skype, iTunes and Windows Virtual PC. Usually on a reboot, sound will come back. But not always. Just now, I had sound working for a while, but it's no longer working.
It would also be VERY nice if there was a "production quality" chipset available for D975XBX2. The one there now is NOT considered "production quality".
I gave up and got a Creative Audigy card. It's not that expensive and it works flawlessly with Windows 7 64-bit.
Just remember to disable the onboard audio.
