I just able to setup my. Dell Studio 1555, intel 5300 n card + WRT310N the only security that work is WAP2 with ASE setup on my router.
I download the last version on Intel Pro Set Wireless on the intel site: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Product_Filter.aspx?ProductID=3062.
The diagnostic tool help a bit.
Were you able to connect to it with just Wireless-N (not in mixed mode)? Also, I tried connecting with no security, and it still doesn't connect. Thanks for the reply!
Thanks so much for this. I appreciate the effort. It really helps a lot.
This is what I found on Intel website, it does not actually address specifically your issue since you mentioned already tried no security setting and upgraded AP firmware, just refer this site for reference:
I'm having the same issue.. If I put this AP into N only mode the 5300 AGN card can't connect at all. ( But my Atheros 5008 card can )... The only reason I was trying to use N only mode was because of another issue I was having. For some reason my connection would go from 245-270mbps ish, to 5, 50, 85, and all over map, briefly, then back to 245-270ish. Everytime it happened I lost network connectivity. I thought it might be a Windows problem so I switched over to my Ubuntu install and same issue.... Any other suggestions?
I realize this is a very old thread but as it is the first hit from Google and Bing when searching out issues with the 5300AGN, I decided to register and put in my solution.
We recently ran into this issue when we began our yearly quest to do upgrades and maintenance for our users' laptops. This issue appeared the moment we upgraded the wirless driver to the latest version (15.3.1) but according to some users, it was happening prior to then.
Uninstalled and deleted the driver for the network adapter and ended up having to also dump it from the driver repository in Windows 7 (c:\windows\system32\driverstore\filerepository) as well. I could not find a page listing Intel's old versions so went to Dell's page and installed their 13.0A01 package. The issue immediately ceased. Hope it helps someone out there!
