I recently built a computer and it is waking from sleep mode by itself quite frequently. Sometimes it only wakes for a short time and does not turn on the display. Other times, it turns on the display. When I type in powercfg -lastwake into the command prompt it says that the Intel(R) 9 Series Chipset Family USB xHCI Host Controller - 8CB1 is responsible for waking the computer. I can't seem to disable this from waking the computer. Does anyone know why this would wake my computer? Any insight into this issue would be much appreciated.
MoBo: MSI z97 Gaming 5
CPU: Intel i5 4690K
OS: Windows 8.1
The driver USB xHCI host is provided through Microsoft as part of the windows package during the installation. I recommend checking with MSI for any BIOS update or possible BIOS settings you could adjust to prevent the computer from waking up.
