Intel® PRO/1000 MT adapter base drivers are included in box for Windows Server 2008 R2. No additional driver or software release is planned for these adapters. See Is my Intel® Ethernet Adapter supported in Microsoft Windows Server* 2008 R2? for more information.
I need to built a team with several PRO/1000MT under W2008 R2 x64 (as I made under 2003 R2).
Setup (ProWin7x64.exe) claims : no intel connections. (Windows recognized and installed these NICs "in-box", but I need Intel ANS to make a team).
I've read such a card can be teamed in a team built on a supported NIC (1000PT for instance), but many servers (like my PowserEdge 2850) doesn't provide PCI-express and then full-supported Intel NIC.
I can't believe Intel would not provide such features for their notorius Server NICs !
Thanks for giving me a solution
Is there any new updates on getting the Intel Pro/1000 MT adapter working with Server 2008 R2 x64 in teamed mode? I too have a Dell PowerEdge 2850 that we were looking at buiding as a new SQL2008 server, but we cannot get any of the latest Intel drivers to see the built-in nics.
Is Intel going to be supporting these cards with the PROset software any time soon, or are we just going to have to bite the bullet and purchase a suported card like the Pro/1000 PT?
when it was already released a driver for win7 x64 and server 2008 r2 !!??? or does not let you!? why the card on PCI-e came out as a PCI not? "I'm not going to buy a new card on the bus because there is no sense in this if the driver does not work, I stop to buy and recommend products intel!!!!
ps.i release the normal driver for the chipset p45 it to this day too, no!
So there's seriously not going to be any teaming support for the PRO/1000 MT cards ever in 2008 R2? We have a slew of Dell 2850 machines that have this as the onboard device and we also purchased at least 20 of these cards a couple years back so they're the bread & butter of 75% of our machines.
I just started upgrading some of our servers to 2008 R2 when I came across this issue and it's seriously frustrating.
