It seems you have encountered the famous F6 drivers issue. Basically you need to install the drivers during the windows instalation.
I think it will be easiest for you to read the following links, i am sure it is explained better than i could:
http://www.intel.com/support/chipsets/imsm/sb/CS-029958.htm This one give you the two options for solving your issue.
http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/server/sb/CS-029550.htm This one gives you instructions on how to create a slipstreamed CD.
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/916196/ This one gives you teh infomration about the 3 Floppy drives you can use.
There is another option which would be to use win server 2008 which should already have the drivers integrated.
Hope this helps
You're definitely in the right area. That error is almost always related to the driver not matching the RAID subsystem.
You are hitting F6 during install, and getting the driver from
I have USB floppy and it is on supported list from Microsoft, I try win 2003 with F6 and also try Intel Deployment Assistent 3.0 which copy win instalation files to system RAID disk and copy needed driver some thing like slipstrim CD, after copying files then I can remove USB FDD and USB CD and continue to instalation and becouse of that they are not part of the problem, after copying and removing USB FDD and USB CD and restart of server . instalation start from RAID HDD with all needed drivers, instalation continue until "STARTING WINDOWS" and after that blue screen of death. if I try Intel Deployment Assistent 3.0 with 2008 instalation I.D.A copy wrong drivers to HDD and I could not finish installing win 2008 , if i try manualy to instal using option load driver I can finish instalation win 2008 but I do not have Win2008 license and i need to install win 2003
Today i tried to replicate your issue with the same setup.
I am able to install win2k3 R2 SP2 in RAID 1 configuration.
Below are the steps i followed:( provided you have only S/W Raid and not Hardware RAID card)
1. BIOSsetup -> Massstorage control-> Set SW RAID -> save settings -> AC cycle.
2. change the boot order to CDROM and followed with RAID
3. Boot to IDA ver 3.1 and do the RAID 1 coniguraiton.
4. Without any issues i was able to install Win 2k3 R2 SP2. ( No BLUE screen occured)
Note: Make sure you have the latest BIOS ( ver41)
Let me know if i can be of any assitance.
