How to hotswap SATA HDDs ?

    kamui_kun

      Hi everyone

      First, here's my hardware :

      - Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3R (with an Intel SATA AHCI controller)

      - two Addonics Snap-in racks for SATA HDDs, here's the  homepage: http://www.addonics.com/products/mobile_rack/aesnapmrsa.asp

      - Latest Intel Matrix Storage drivers, Windows 7 x64 RC1

      - Many 1 TB SATA HDDs

I want to swap between my HDDs while in Windows, but, after installing the latest Intel Matrix Storage drivers, I dont see anymore the "safelly unplug hard drive" icons in the notification area on the task bar... before installing the driver, the icon was there but I always got the message "this device is still in use and cannot be removed" ...

The only option I have right now, is to use de switch on my snap-in rack to turn off the hard drive, and then swap the HDD and use the "scan for new hardware" in the Intel Matrix Storage Console... but is it safe for my HDDs ?

Is there a tool from Intel to safely unplug my HDDs ? I've searched everywhere but didt find any -.-

      Any help would be welcomed

      Thanks in advance
