Yes and No. I have a gen 1 galileo board that I recently picked up as an IoT gateway kit from Mouser electronics. The gen1 will boot to the WindRiver Linux OS on the SDCard but it will not show up in the Device Manager as a COM port either.
The gen2 galileo will not boot to the WindRiver OS (I am assuming it is compiled only for Gen1 boards)
The gen2 galileo will not boot to the Windows image available from the Microsoft IoT developers group.
I can't push Sketchs to either device, I can't get the Intel dual band 802.11g/Bluetooth card to work with either device.
At this point, I have ordered a Raspberry Pi 2 and I will just work with it.
I'm sorry for all the inconvenience that you have had with your boards. Did you have the same result when using the Yocto image? Were you using 3.0 USB ports or 2.0 USB ports? If you want we could try to get your boards working again with the supported image from = Galileo Software Downloads and after that try to use the WindRiver and Windows OS on them
