yes thank you the fswebcam command is working now
a picture is saved like picture.jpg
but i am unable to open it using linux command
i have used these command to open the jpg file :-
sh-4.2# xdg-open anu.jpg
sh: xdg-open: command not found
sh-4.2# gnome-open anu.jpg
sh: gnome-open: command not found
sh-4.2# eog -f anu.jpg
sh: eog: command not found
You are using IoT image, right? Have you tried installing xdg-open? I think the other commands could be more difficult to make them work because Yocto does not include a desktop environment.
no am using the yocto 1.4.2,the sd card image.
i tried using opkg install xdg-open
Unless you have a a graphic display connected to your Galileo, you won't be able to see the images directly. The best was I know to view images is install FileZilla client https://filezilla-project.org/ After you install it, go to file/site manager. Create a new site with the IP address of your Galileo, leave port blank, change from FTP to SFTP,, change login type to interactive, enter root as user and click on connect. You can then browse to where you have the image, right click on it and click on view/edit to see the image.
