I have a system based on Gigabyte H97M-HD3 Motherboard ( chipset Intel H97) with RAID1 disc array.
The system run Ubuntu 14.04 LTS Server.
Now when i shutdown the system and restart the RAID configuration utility report "Rebuild" for the RAID Volumes
and the system begin a work for some hours on the disc.
But it's correct ?
Anytime i shutdown the system the RAID1 go to "Rebuild" and do some work ( for hours ) on the disc in the next restart.
Another problem is when i simulate a disc crash disconnecting one disc of the RAID1.
In this case the system report some message in the shell
[ 174.839604 ] sd 1:0:0:0: rejecting I/O to offline device
and the last:
[ 174.841350] end_request: I/O error, dev sdb, sector 1806620465
After when i open the vi editor on a file the system locks and i need break the supply to restart the system ( it start well with only one disc of the RAID1 )
Thanks for joining the Chipset community.
Please bear in mind that Linux support is limited at Intel.
I recommend you to try any of the Linux support groups to see if there are any drivers available that will provide you with the functions you require for your RAID controller.
