    Unable to connect to wifi

    LiranB

      Hi all !

I am a student and as part of my final project im working on the edison.
I tried to insert script to automatically connection to wifi.

after this I am traying to get to wifi and i get this following message :

Failed to connect to non-global ctrl_ifname: (null)  error: No such file or directory

Failed to connect to non-global ctrl_ifname: (null)  error: No such file or directory

Command 'wpa_cli ifname' returned non-zero exit status 255

Sorry. Could not get an IP address.

      Not connected. Something went wrong.

I have no knowledge related, Does anybody have a solution to the problem?

I tried to update the newest Flash version again, but it did not help

There is a way restore? Or format the edison?

      Thanks!

what do you mean with insert script to automatically connect to wifi?

the configure_edison script/command configure the required files to have wifi available, also after reboot

you have to execute it one time, for example configure_edison --setup

We tried to run a script that when the Edison starts up it will connect to specific wifi.

and I already tried  to do what you wrote, but still no luck.

            the full action:

            Scanning: 1 seconds leftt

            0 : Rescan for networks

            1 : Manually input a hidden SSID

            2 : liran

            3 : kolombo

Enter 0 to rescan for networks.

Enter 1 to input a hidden network SSID.

Enter a number between 2 to 3 to choose one of the listed network SSIDs: 2

            Is liran correct? [Y or N]: y

Password must be between 8 and 63 characters.

What is the network password?: **********

Initiating connection to liran. Please wait...

                Hi LiranB

Were you able to connect your board to WiFi?

                Regards;

I would be very interested in learning how you cleared up this problem.

I am very much STUCK for 2 days now with this same error.

I've flashed the latest version of Edison firmware. I've also deleted excess journals and logs.

Still stuck. Please help if you can.

                      Hi Dave,

We went through a lot of problems since, so I'm not sure I remember correctly.

but I think I deleted the image of Edison and re-installed the image and than did reboot -r or something similar that solved the problem.

                      Good luck!
