    Can the iot-dev image handle both eglibc and uClibc .ipk packages?

      I wanted to add MQTT function into Intel Galileo using the link below.

      It was mentioned that the recipe is packaged to work with uClibc. Does it mean that it cannot work with iot-dev image? How can MQTT broker function be added to iot-dev image?

          Hi teachme,

           

          The file you just attached is a Yocto recipe. This means that you need add this recipe to the build in order to create an image that contains this package. To respond to your question regarding using uclibc packages in an eglibc based image, when the files are compiled in uclibc the binaries are not compatible with eglibc, but the source files are. So as far as I understand the problem would be with the libraries the package requires so it might not work due to incompatibility. You would need to recompile the files in eglibc in case you have problems with it.
