Directx Support differs for 4th Generation Intel® Core™ Processors with Intel® HD Graphics 5000/4600/4400/4200. I guess 15.33.32.64.4061 is wrong. Does the 8-bit and 10-bit support and HEVC improvement refer to both Haswell and Broadwell?

10bit hybrid HEVC decode is enabled on BDW U and H sku. Not available on HSW.

8bit hybrid HEVC decode is available on both HSW U sku and above and BDW U and H sku.

Thanks

Robert

Interesting, the 10bit HEVC hybrid decoding is applicable for Haswell or Broadwell IGPU?

Hi Robert,

i have a Sony Vaio Pro 13 with a Intel Core i5-4200U but it is only possible to install the driver via "Have Disk".

Why isn't it possible to install the driver with the normal installation?

How about a "forced" installation as a option for the installation or is there a switch for doing so?

Why doesn't get the driver automatically installed/found when pointing to the folder of the extracted zip driver file?

What's the job of the igfxCUI service that get's installed and do i need this to run or can this be disabled?

Thanks for the VP9 support and fixing some of those little anoying bugs! Keep it going!

@ Velocet

Your Sony system was configured by Sony with a customized graphics driver. Due to OEM requirements, the only way to update the Sony customized driver with a Generic Intel driver is to use the "Have Disk" method. However, once this has been done, future driver updates can be done with .exe files. (Also see http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/CS-022355.htm?wapkw=oem+driver Graphics Drivers — Computer Manufacturer Graphics Driver Detected)

Note: Once you install the "generic" driver you will overwrite any customizations Sony made to the driver specific for your system model.

The igfxCUI service is the service for the Intel HD Graphics Control Panel. It is an integral part of the driver and cannot be removed.

Thanks

Robert

Is there a driver planned soon for P4600 graphics?

@ Antoine ,

The GPU is the same on XEON and desktop/mobile.

For Xeon Processors on Win8.1 we use the exact same driver as for desktop/mobile skus. The difference is that the driver detects that it is running on a Xeon machine and will enable additional optimizations for workstation applications such as AutoCAD, Photoshop, etc.

Thanks

That's what I guessed, however the VEN and DEV for the Xeon are missing from the INF file of this build.

@ Antoine,, I will investigate and get back to you. By any chance did you try to install the driver?

Thanks

Hi guys I have two question for you:

1) I have an HD Graphics 4200 and reading the table posted by Robert_U how can I use hybrid hevc hardware acceleration?

2) on my second PC I have an HD Graphics 4400 but with this driver (.4080) and with I can't use hardware acceleration for hevc movie in 8-bit with QuickSync

any suggestions?

Thanks!

I have this driver and can confirm that I no longer have a problem with igfxEM.exe using up 25% of CPU (so one CPU core). I had previously switched to the August driver, but this one seems to be working. Thanks for figuring this out.

Hi Robert,

Running setup.exe tells me that the machine doesn't meet the requirements for installation.

If I manually select "Have Disk" in the device manager and point to the driver INF file, Intel P4600/P4700 is not listed.

I attempted to force installation of the "Intel HD Graphics 4600" driver, but I get an error message telling that the system isn't supported again.

I have no problems installing older 15.36.x drivers. The new INF file is missing all references to PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_041A.

I have just test-signed the driver with the added lines in the INF file. I will put Windows in test mode to see if the driver installs or if it's actually not compatible with P4600 Graphics.

Hi again Robert,

After merging the missing P4600/P4700 lines from past driver INF file, the driver was installed successfully. I don't normally use this system for driver development tests, but I will leave it in test mode for a while just to see if problems arise using this version.

Hi Antoine

We have added the DID's for the p4600 to the inf and have updated the drivers on Download Center. Both the exe and zip versions have been updated.

Thanks

I was hopeful that this driver would address the Windows Media Center 29/59 bug. I have installed it on Windows 7 and I am still experiencing significant stuttering on copy-once TV channels. I am using HD 4200 graphics. Will this be fixed soon? This has been an issue acknowledged by Intel for some time now. Thanks.

Hi Jamie

The "stuttering" issue is currently under investigation by our debug team.

Thanks
