Several users have had the problem of not having enough space on their board; however I found a couple of links you might find useful. Here users share their workarounds on how to solve this issue.

thanks for your prompt reply. The log is just fine. I guess simply there is not enough space on the ROM to install ROS-desktop package. I just find odd that no one else rose the problem. Following the instruction just does not work for me.
I just got back working on Edison and I will keep you posted. Meanwhile I am trying to install ubilinux and ROS on a microSD.
i think you mean flash not rom, its impossible to install software on read only memory
edison has a 4GB flash i would work with the standard utilities like df, du and parted
depending on the os you have installed "apt-get" is not intels supported yocto its possible to remove unwanted software or repartition your flash
you are right, it is the flash I'm talking about. Any suggestion on how to install ROS on the supported OS (yocto) and how to resize /dev/root would be appreciated.
i never installed ros but i would start to read the ros documentation
i already wrote df, du and parted
