    recipe linking with openssl failed

    Andre.M

could someone tell me why this error message appears?

      | checking for OpenSSL library... using OpenSSL from /home/build/yocto/build/tmp/sysroots/edison/usr/lib/../lib and /home/build/yocto/build/tmp/sysroots/edison/usr/lib/../include

      | checking whether linking with OpenSSL works... no

      | Please check the argument to --with-openssl and your

      | WARNING: exit code 1 from a shell command

openssl header files are located in /home/build/yocto/build/tmp/sysroots/edison/user/include/openssl

if the path to openssl would be wrong i would have a different error message

the source does not use autotools or cmake

i assume the reason is related to cross compiling because if i compile the source on edison it works like a charm...
