arduino IDE upload gives Edison read-only error message

Rec'd my Arduino breakout board with Edison yesterday.  Meticulously and very carefully went through all the "getting started" steps on communities.intel.com, and everything, including flashing the Edison, appeared to go just fine.  However, when I try to use the Arduino IDE to upload the basic "Blink" example, it fails.  It compiles ok, but the upload fails with the error message "/dev/ttyS66: read-only file system" (66 is the Intel Edison Virtual Com Port number).  All drivers, including FTDI, are the latest available as of today's date.   I am running Windows 7x64.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks.
