1. Re: How do I create a Volume for RST and keep all of my files?
joe_intel Jan 2, 2015 9:20 AM (in response to DCN)Hi DCN, the steps you are trying at the end are intended to create a RAID 1 volume, which is different from the SSD acceleration / Intel® Smart Response Technology.
Furthermore, I regret to inform you that the Intel® Chipset in your system does not support Intel® Smart Response Technology.

DCN Jan 2, 2015 9:57 AM (in response to joe_intel)I'm really confused then. Why is it plastered all over the box, and I'm able to turn RST on in the BIOS if I can't use it? Is there any alternative that I can use? Or am I out of luck?

joe_intel Jan 9, 2015 4:19 PM (in response to DCN)Let’s see if your system can enter the RAID option ROM (RAID BIOS) by pressing Ctrl + I repeatedly as soon as you turn the computer on and before Windows* starts booting. You will need both drives connected and the SATA controller mode set to RAID.
You do not need to make any changes but just let me know if you get access.

joe_intel Jan 13, 2015 4:49 PM (in response to DCN)Interesting, it seems you are able to create RAID volumes even though it was not supposed to be supported by your chipset according to page 52 of the datasheet. Still, it does not support Intel® Smart Response Technology.

DCN Jan 14, 2015 6:43 PM (in response to joe_intel)I guess it was false hope after all. Thanks for helping me out.
