About portaudio and pulseaudio, could you tell me from where are you getting the packages?
Indeed I have only built espeak for Edison so far, so it's not that easy unfortunately.
asoundlib.h is in alsa-dev package, which is available in the Galileo repo though.
Let me check if I can quickly build espeak for you, if not and it requires additional messing up, I'll put it on my package ToDo list.
Et voila, espeak and it's dependency libportaudio is in the repo Enjoy!
Thanks for replying. I had looked at the reference you mentioned, but had different errors. I had gotten the portaudio and pulseaudio from the developers' websites. However, since Alex has put espeak in the repository, the problem should be solved.
Thanks a million. Now I can port a project over from the Raspberry Pi and set up a talking/web based security system as a demonstration project.
