Unfortunately the mini-breakout board doesn't have a built-in LED so you are not going to see a LED blinking in the mini-breakout board.
In order to use the mini-breakout board with the Blink sketch or attach it to something else, there is a good way to accomplish this, take a look at this thread, I think you will find it helpful. Also, take a look at the Hardware Guide for the mini-breakout board and for the compute module.
You typed that you are having problems with the correct ports, are you able to see the port in the IDE (Tools>SerialPort)? Or you were referring to the physical pins in order to run the Blink sketch?
Thank you! Do you know anything about the compatibility of the Mini Board and the Sketches? Do they work together, or should I get the Arduino board?
Also I can see certain ports in the IDE, but they are not the ports that the Getting Started guide says to use.
About the compatibility of the mini-breakout board and the sketches: they work on the mini-breakout board and in the Arduino expansion board. But, the mini breakout board doesn't have the ports that the another one has. As reference you could do something like the previous suggestion
The mini-breakout board doesn't has ADC's so if you want to use analog signals you will have to develop your own system with your ADC's.
Now, about the ports, could you tell me which ports appears in your IDE? Are you able to upload a sketch using the IDE?
