COM Port disappearing when booting with ubilinux, can not get access to debian

I have an Intel® Galileo Gen2 and followed the instructions on this website and i'm stuck on step 9 (EmutexLabs). When i insert the ubilinux sd card, the com port is not being used. Without the sd card arduino shows that com9 is being used and i can access the com port and start blink etc. I'm using an micro-USB device cable to the USB Client port. it's not working for linux as well, /dev/ttyACM0 only appears when sd card is not inserted. If i can not to serial port/console, then i dont know how to setup ubilinux. I really want to run debian on my Galileo Gen2 and hope someone might help.
