Guest1799, there are 5 BIOS versions between the current BIOS v47 and the latest one available which is 54. So may be going straight to the latest version is causing the boot problem. While Intel has not tested and validated Intel® NUC on your Linux version, we know that other customers have successfully installed it.
I recommend you to check the BIOS Update Release Notes on this URL. You will be able to see the fixes and features included on each version http://downloadmirror.intel.com/24358/eng/GK_0054_ReleaseNotes.pdf .
I would also recommend you to follow the F7 method when performing the BIOS update Desktop Boards — BIOS Update Instructions
Same issue on Ubuntu Server LTS 12.04.3 and Ubuntu Server 14.04.02.
I tried different BIOS :
- v47 (initial BIOS) : working
- v48 (GK0048.BIO) : working
- v49 (GK0049.BIO) : working
- v53 (GK0053.BIO) : working
- v54 (GK0054.BIO) : NOT working
- v55 (GK0055.BIO) : NOT working
Any idea ?
