I have intel hd graphics 2500 running on my i5 pc with windows 8.1 . Recently the pc noticed to have a blackscreen error while working on pc, which makes the system idle and i have to shut the power down to turn off pc. I tried to enter safe mode, the pc seems to be working . I tried to install latest graphics suite, still no use.

Could you please attach the DX Ddiag report from your system so I can check the current information?
Dxdiag Report: Type dxdiag in Start Menu> open> Save> Attach using Advanced Editor Options.
Are you running the latest BIOS and graphics drivers version available?
Was there any change on the system configuration? Any program or update installed?
Thanks

When the black screen error was first noted , during start-up the windows logo will appear and the system remains idle. So i decided to re install the OS once again. Doing so the pc seemed to be ok. Bt when i tried to install the latest driver from the Intel download center , half way during the installation process, the black screen appears and system goes idle.So at present the adapter is Microsoft basic display adapter as i cannot install the intel driver.
I am using intel desktop board dh61ww . All the latest updates of windows 8.1 was insatalled

Akhilpawathinal, something very important that I would need to share with you is that according to this URL, the DH61WW does not support Windows 8.1 or there are no drivers available. http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/sb/CS-008326.htm Desktop Boards — Supported Operating Systems
Would you please let me know which is the current BIOS version installed on your board?
I was looking for the latest HD2500 graphics drivers available on the downloadcenter.intel.com, and I found these 2 versions.

Akhilpawathinal, there are 7 newer BIOS versions for this motherboard. The latest one is Version 120
I suggest you to try to install some BIOS versions before installing the latest one. It is important to know that going straight to the latest version shouldn't be a problem, technically speaking. However based on experience, there is always chance.
So, please try to update the BIOS to version 111. https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?DwnldID=22509 Intel® Download Center
I recommend you to check the BIOS Update Release Notes on this URL. You will be able to see the fixes and features included on each version. http://downloadmirror.intel.com/23393/eng/BE_0120_ReleaseNotes.pdf http://downloadmirror.intel.com/23393/eng/BE_0120_ReleaseNotes.pdf
I would also recommend you to follow the F7 method when performing the BIOS update http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/sb/cs-022312.htm Desktop Boards — BIOS Update Instructions
