In theory if you the slower dimm in the first slot (main one) they should work but only at the slowest spees.
Saying this i can't personllay see any benefit you are going to get having 2.5Gb at 533 instead of 2gb at 667.
Hope this helps.
I appreciate your answer . . . It was helpful . . . But my question is still open to those who can further elaborate it . . . . ! ! ! !
Hi, ermm not being funny, but what question did i not answer...?
Is it ok to install both unmatching RAMs? Yes
then in what order? the slower dimm in the first slot (main one)(Single Sided 512mb with 533 FSB)
What can be the side effects??they should work but only at the slowest speed. Interms of any other side effects, there shouldn't be any, but you won't know untill you do it... the same as in there an 8800gts should be compatible with most boards, but you won't be sure if it will work on your specific board untill you try it.
There are two channels and four slots on my mobo
Channel A : Dimm 0
Channel B: Dimm 0
I should install 512mb (533) on Channel A, Dimm 0 and 2gb on Channel B, Dimm 0 , right?
Yeah, that sounds about right. Try it, if it dosen't work try another combination
Many thanks Cpt.Dogfruit.
Another question... Since due to the unmatching combination the system will work with lower clock speed. So is it worth installing that 512mb (533) in addition to 2gb (800) to make 2.5gb ? Or is it more fruitful to just rely on higher clock speed 2gb ?
