that's what I'm questioning. "sudo" helps with the general tidyiness of working on a Unix box. having a native GCC as a default is somewhat rare.
granted. You should be able to "opkg remove" unwanted packages (like gcc). I think AlexT added a "sudo" package into his repository posted in another thread of this forum.
... or you bitbake your own image. It's not too complex and you can specify rootfs size, packages contained, ... yourself (also describe elsewhere on that forum)
