You probably would need to install python-dev or something like that.
Thank you very much for the reply,
How do I install python-dev package
because "opkg install python-dev" or "opkg install python-devel" does not work
What is the recommended procedure for installing this package in Galileo Gen 2
a, sorry - just had a look once more on your error log. Seems you are missing the C compiler (i586-poky-linux-uclibc-gcc missing).
So you'd have to install gcc. It looks like you are on a standard uclibc image. You might try gcc from AlexT repo: Index of /galileo/i586
Follow this guide http://alextgalileo.altervista.org/package-repo-configuration-instructions.html in order to set up the opkg with AlexT repo. Once you have done this continue with this other guide http://alextgalileo.altervista.org/blog/installing-development-tools-onto-official-linux-image/ , this would install all the necessary tools. As soon you have done both you should be able to install the python module as you posted. Let me know if it works.
Thank you so much JPMontero_Intel, Mahahn - I am up and running now
