The good thing is that it's getting to the "***ready to receive application ***" bit, so get yourself 2 usb cables, one for flashing, and the other for watching the console.
The image on the download section has a flashall.sh script, so that's your best bet.
thanks for your fast reply.
But that flashall.sh I already tried on my Mac without any success.
I haven't had much success flashing with my Mac, but my Linux box works like a charm. If you can get your hands on a linux machine, it'd certainly be worth a try.
Ok, I also tried the flashall.sh from an Ubuntu 14.04 machine, no success. With "lsusb" I can see the USB device 8086:E005 but after a few seconds it's disappearing and coming back and so on. In flashall.sh there is only a USB device 8087:0A99 referenced, and I try to change to 8086:E005; no succes. And the command "dfu-util -l -d 8086:E005" didn't recognize the Edison board at all.
Anything else to check?
Hmm. maybe try an external PSU on the 7-15v input. That has helped wirh arduino boards, haven't had that issue with mini-bobs. Worth a try.
btw, is the flashall script seeing the board when you plug it in?
I am skeptical this has anything to do with PSU as the board goes to uboot but doesn't seem to find the OS.
Yes, as long as uboot is available I think there are good chances you can reflash from console with "flashall" mentioned by @David_J_Hunt. There are descriptions in other threads in this forum on how to proceed.
Ok, finally I got it solved!
The key is just to use a "good" USB cable - that's all! I tried three cables from the same brand, all had shown the same problem. But finally I've tried another one from a Sony smartphone and this does really work.
I think it's really the quality of the power through the USB cable. And I think it could also be fixed by an external PSU. With the bad USB cables the boot process at the point where it accesses the eMMC, maybe this operation needs more power than provided.
Lesson learned: if your Edison don't want to boot, FIRST TRY: change your USB cable or attach a better power source!!!!
