I am consider the 24-bay server storage systems from Intel. 24 x 600GB SSDs.

I am planning to have two raid controllers with all 24 hdd connected to both raid controller with only one controller active at a time. Is it even possible??

Examples includes

(a) RocketRAID 2720C2 Cross-Sync RAID Solution where Up to 4 storage controller cards, each with its own dedicated PCIe 2.0 x8 lane can work in unison but probably may not necessarily in A/A or A/P modes

(b) http://www.intel.in/content/www/in/en/servers/raid/raid-high-availability.html http://www.intel.in/content/www/in/en/servers/raid/raid-high-availability.html

Intel HA based on JBODs (however still limited to windows and based on jbods only

To our understanding, our RAID controllers do not offer Active/Passive configuration.

Dear David

Thanks. I was hoping Intel RAID would support that. It is a common feature with dedicated storage boxes. I wish Intel looks into this feature in future.

I will pass along this suggestion to be considered as a future feature in our products.
