I don't plan on using the Arduino interface, but would rather write standard Linux software. Does the Arduino "emulator" on the Edison use the normal (/sys) interface to the hardware resources, or has Intel developed a more efficient method of interfacing to the hardware from user mode processes? I'm particularly interested in how interrupts are handled.
tbh: I haven't looked into Edison Yocto details yet. But I'd assume it's using standard /sys and nothing special. You might want to check out the sources for details
