The HD 4400 is the graphics controller included on newer processor generations.

Thanks for that very detailed reply. I've read the sheets you've linked and attempted to understand as much as possible. Based on experience, I would probably say the newer chip would be "better" than the older chip. But I'd only say that if I were comparing oranges to oranges. In your expert opinion, given the comparison is being made for hardware requirements for a piece of software, would you say the newer HD 4400 is "better" than the GMA 4500? Or is it a different type of chip?

Please bear in mind both controllers are different and newer processors will come with new technologies and you get better performance.
