I think you need to update the BIOS to the latest version... I did that and it normally booted ubuntu 14.04...
Unfortunately I can't, because I need the miniDisplayPort to VGA adapter, in 0028 (latest bios) it doesn't work.
@Intel, could you please check if this is reproducible also on your system? My setup is the following: Intel NUC-->miniDP-VGA-adapter-->VGA monitor
The adapter is an Apple MB572Z (Mini DisplayPort to VGA Adapter - Apple Store (U.S.)
Monitor: Samsung SyncMaster 710v (max resolution: 1280x1024)
On BIOS ver. 0028 whenever I press F2 the monitor screen turns black and I cannot access the BIOS, CTRL+ALT+CANC doesn't work, I must press down the power button to shut off the system.
This doesn't happen at all in 0027.
However in 0027 when I change the "Visual BIOS Settings" e.g. change the theme of the BIOS interface or enable/disable the Page Transitions it seems that the BIOS doesn't retain the changes between reboots.
I really need the NUC working.
Intel, could you please verify and fix those issues?
Thank you very much!
Sorry for my bad english.
I regret to inform you that this type of test has not been performed.
I know the NUC works with the following adapter: Brand: Bizlink, mini-DisplayPort to VGA cable, model number MDPVGA.
The problem is that you are using an Apple video adapter, specifically designed for Apple products.
Please test using different video adapter.
Thank you very much for your reply Allan, however I can't understand why it works in BIOS ver. 0027 but doesn't in ver. 0028.
I am afraid I do not have information about this type of inconsistency. If you are still using the Apple adapter please keep trying version 0027.
I have updated to the latest bios 30, I am unable to boot (no boot light) after a hibernate.
