An intel s5000 xvn board was moved from a custom case to an intel 5400 base with power supply and it will not boot. The beep code says the processor has failed or does not exist. The processors are installed properly, nothing was damaged or changed. The processors are xeon quad e5410. The chances that the motherboard or processor became faulty upon moving the board from one case to another is very low - what else could it be?
There are 2 devices (1 tape backup 1 blue ray burner) and a pci graphics card, have tried with all devices disconnected. since it won't even post, bios cannot be flashed. processors are not damaged.
The new chassis might not have a sufficient 12V rail. Easiest way to test - move it back to the 5400. If it still boots there, you're on the right track.
If the new power supply isn't sufficient, try booting with only one processor at first.
