    Creating a RAID 0 storcli

    dchapman00

      Hello again.

      We want to make 2 RAID0 arrays on a couple of drives we have added to our enclosure.

      Running from an ESXi 5.0 shell:

      /opt/lsi/storcli # ./storcli /c0 /e248 /s6-7 show

      Controller = 0

      Status = Success

      Description = Show Drive Information Succeeded.

      Drive Information :

      =================

      ---------------------------------------------------------------------------

      EID:Slt DID State DG       Size Intf Med SED PI SeSz Model              Sp

      ---------------------------------------------------------------------------

      248:6    26 UGood -    1.817 TB SATA HDD N   N  512B ST2000DM001-1CH164 U

      248:7    25 UGood -  231.898 GB SATA HDD N   N  512B ST3250620AS        U

      ---------------------------------------------------------------------------

      EID-Enclosure Device ID|Slt-Slot No.|DID-Device ID|DG-DriveGroup

      DHS-Dedicated Hot Spare|UGood-Unconfigured Good|GHS-Global Hotspare

      UBad-Unconfigured Bad|Onln-Online|Offln-Offline|Intf-Interface

      Med-Media Type|SED-Self Encryptive Drive|PI-Protection Info

      SeSz-Sector Size|Sp-Spun|U-Up|D-Down|T-Transition|F-Foreign

      UGUnsp-Unsupported|UGShld-UnConfigured shielded|HSPShld-Hotspare shielded

      CFShld-Configured shielded

      However the command:

      /opt/lsi/storcli # ./storcli /c0 add vd type=r0 drives=248:7

      Controller = 0

      Status = Failure

      Description = invalid arguments , Invalid parameter

      And the command:

      /opt/lsi/storcli # ./storcli /c0 add vd type=raid0 drives=248:7

      Controller = 0

      Status = Failure

      Description = invalid arguments , Invalid parameter

      /opt/lsi/storcli # MegaCli -CfgLdAdd r0 [248:7] -a0

      Adapter 0: Configure Adapter Failed

      Exit Code: 0x03

      Anyone have an idea what I have missed?

      Thanks,
