Hello JPost, I’m sorry for the inconvenience that you have faced with your system when using RST 13.1.
My recommendation will be to reinstall version 12.9.
In the mean time, please let me know what kind of issues did you used to have when running this version?
Please let me know your system information such as motherboard, processor, chipset, RAID type?
Thanks Sylvia, its been a year now...
Email & tray has never worked on my 64 bit win 8.1 box.
All versions since Matrix8 were fine on both W2K & XP3 on same box.
Everything works fine except notifications: eMail & Icons, weather verifing or degraded,
no way to know what its doing unless the GUI is running or you happen to catch BIOS.
Asus P7P55D Deluxe, i5 650, 12gb, ICH10R, 3x RAID1, boots off SSD + 2 data HDDs on 10R chipset.
JPost, thanks alot for the information provided.
According to the chipset of your system, the latest version supported of the Intel® Rapid Storage Technology is 11.7.
I recommend you to uninstall the current version and install version this one. Intel® Download Center
Your chipset is not capable to support newer RST versions.
It didn't dawn on me that the software could outgrow my old chipset - Doah!
It doesn't seem so easy as updating. Will going backwards cause booting issues?
I uninstalled 'what it lets you' of version 13. Before installing 11 should I reboot although
Win 8.1's uninstaller hasn't asked me to ? As a rule I usually do, but THIS is my O\S BOOT
array were talking about on this controller. Questions... Is the BIOS's SATA Mode involved?
Will the current drivers stay working through a reboot - until the new software is fully installed?
Am I paranoid? Never downgraded before. Up is Easy. Can this break my 3 mirrors?
I'd hate to go through days of rebuilding - or worse - just to 'maybe' get tray icons back?
Any thoughts would be appreciated... Thanks.
Nothing is if going to happen to your RAID arrays.
If you want just try to install version 11.7 without uninstalling the current version. The system is going to ask you if you agree to install an older software version. You would have to accept and that is all.
OK Done back to 11.7 now & there is no change.
No Notification Icons & 4 email account tests either Fail or are Unable to Connect.
Do you have the icons on yours? I haven't seen them since Win 8 started.
Jpost, I’m going to report this to the corresponding team so they can replicate the issue.
I will let you know once I receive information from them.
